You can buy a Medicare supplement insurance policy, also called a "Medigap" policy,
to pay for some of the costs that Medicare does not cover. Private insurance companies
provide Medigap policies. There are 10 standard Medigap
policies, and each offers a different combination of benefits.
Your state insurance counseling office can answer questions about Medicare and other
health insurance. The services are free. You can get help in deciding whether you need
